In Acts 24, the Apostle Paul is on trial as an insurrectionist. For many this chapter seems clear. But there is more going on here than meets the eye. There are actually two trials. In the first trial, it is really Jesus who is on trial. The second trial comes as Felix and his wife listen to Paul. Felix himself becomes the accused.

We tried something different this week. Loren is on vacation so he prerecorded his sermon. Worship was live broadcast until the sermon began and then we switched to the recorded message. Big Idea: Jesus Christ, Came to bring the Joy of Salvation.

Christmas is supposed to be filled with joy. True joy is not dependent on circumstances. Isaiah foretold of the joy of salvation that comes from the Messiah, the branch of Jessie (Is 11:1-10; 12:1-6). Jesus is the Joy of Salvation. I believe in the joy of salvation!

BELIEVE: 01 - I Believe In The Hope of Messiah

Big Idea: OT Prophesy foretold of the Messiah. Believing in Messiah brings hope in difficult times.

Everyone Needs Hope. 2020 is almost behind us. But just because it will be 2021 doesn’t mean things are going to get better. We may need just as much hope if not more. The Bible from cover to cover gives hope. People have always needed hope… especially in Bible days. The message of hope starts in Genesis and it is completed in Revelation where all things are made knew through Christ, Jesus our Lord. The Bible is filled with the promises of a Messiah to come. These promises bring hope to the oppressed, the heavy-ladened, the sinner, the sick and afflicted, the poor, the needy, the addict, the outcast, the slave, and the free. It gives hope to you and to me too. This hope is timeless… for all generations. Who would have thought that hope could be found in prophesy and lineages? But when the student of the Word digs in and looks at OT prophesy, and looks at the lineage, the person, the ministry, and the miracles of Jesus that person will find hope! You will find hope

Big Idea: How do we know God’s will and follow it

For the Christian, knowing and desiring to “be in God’s will” is one of the most crucial issues. It can be tough to know exactly what God’s will is for our lives. But it gets even more complicated when we put well-intending friends and family in the mix. We should commit all our deeds to God (Pr 16:2-3; 12:15; 19:20; Ja 4:13-17). Paul was committed to follow the Holy Spirit’s lead but his friends, and coworkers are telling him differently. Today I want to give you three simple ways to know and follow the Lord’s will (Ac 16:6-10; 20:22-24; 21:1-16).
