Big Idea: The Elders are to teach, encourage, and rebuke. When they do this the church is blessed and grows. If not, it becomes worldly.

The world we live in as Christians is an evil and dangerous place. It wasn’t much different in Paul’s day. Crete was a rough and touch island nation that had a bad reputation. Paul knew that believers on Crete were not organized to protect themselves. Paul encouraged Titus to select men as elders who would teach, encourage, and rebuke so that the church would be able to withstand worldliness and grow spiritual.
