31 Ways to Let Your Light Shine!

28. Recruit Mor Lights - Isaiah 49:6

Recruit more lights! - Isaiah 49:6

Isaiah 49:6-I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.

It seems odd to say. Perhaps I am stating the obvious. But the main mission of every Christian is regeneration and growth.

Matthew 28:18-20 were the last recorded words of Christ before he ascended into heaven. He told his disciples to go and make disciples, baptize and teach them. This is a regenerative command in that as they went and made disciples the command now applied to the new disciples who were to go and make disciples.

That's where you and I come in. At some point you were brought to the saving light of Jesus that gives life to all men. Now you are supposed to shine and bring others to God.

What is odd about this is that it seems simple, rather basic, like the ABC's and 123's of being a light. Just shine your light so that others will be saved and shine their light too. It is simple math. You get bigger numbers much quicker with multiplication than you do with addition. But if it is so simple why do we make it so complicated.

It is simple. If I shine the light and two people join me in shining the light we now have three people shining the light. But if those two shine and bring two people to the light we now have seven people shining the light. And if those four shine the light and bring two people to Jesus than we have 15 people shining the light... 31...63..etc. And who said we were to stop at two people?

One person with a candle flame doesn't do much to light up a room. But the more people who come to the light and shine the light the brighter the light, the bigger the flame, the greater the draw!

Don't start with the excuses: "I don't know how, I'm not ready, It's not my spiritual gift, I'm not good enough, It's not my responsibility, That's the preachers job, I'm on the committee that's enough isn't it?, etc., etc." Excuses won't work when you stand before God (Mt 7:21-23).

May God bless you, my friend, as you shine the light today. May God use you to bring others to the saving light of Jesus. Let's shine this light together.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Dear Lord and Light; Your glory lights the heavens. You shine brighter than the day. I praise you for your holiness. Help me to stop making excuses and go recruit some more lights. Help us to shine in the darkness of the world. I pray for your courage and strength to stand firm and share the light to all those around me. In the name of Jesus, AMEN!
