31 Ways To Let Your Light Shine!

13 - Be An Example of Growing Faith - 2 Thessalonians 1:3

13. Be An Example of Growing Faith - 2 Thessalonians 1:3

2 Thessalonians 1:3 - We ought to always thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.

Isn't it interesting that our love for others increases as we grow in faith? That is because as we grow in faith we become more and more like Christ. The love of our Lord overflows from us as we let his love flow in us.

One of the ways that we can make our light shine is to allow others to see that we are a work in progress. Faith is a growing process in our lives... from mustard seed faith to stand strong faith! God has sanctified us and justified us but we still have to grow in faith. Paul tells us in Philippians 3 that we are to "work out our salvation with fear and trembling". In other words our faith is a process of growth.

I really made a mistake one time. NO... I sinned. Let's not white-wash it. My children were all witnesses to the iniquity. But instead of denying it or sweeping it under the rug I shared my mistake with them and owned it. It was an opportunity for them to see how God works through our weaknesses to help us grow In faith to be the person we ought to be in Christ. Yes, it hurt like heck and was humbling. We all cried. And God brought healing and growth.

It is easier for us as Christians to be examples of growth in victories of faith but it is harder to shine the light by being an example of growth in failure and defeat.

May God bless you as you shine as a humble example of growing faith.

PRAYER THOUGHT: Dear Lord and Creator; Thank you for making me me. I appreciate your care in crafting me. Help me to be who you created me to be. Help me to show others that I am a work in progress and that although I have aim for the mark I have not yet achieved it. Thanks for being patient with me as my faith in you has grown. Thank you for Jesus who is the mark that I aim for. It is in his name that I pray, AMEN!
