Ecclesiastes 3:1 - There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens...
It was hard enough for me to watch the trucks full of Christmas trees heading out to parts unknown. Then I had to start planning the holiday season on the church calendar. When I had gone to bed last night I had planned on going though some Christmas songs this morning for the choir to start preparing. But this morning there is about 2 inches of snow on the ground. WHAT HAPPENED TO AUTUMN?
It's All-Saint's Day for the Catholics; November 1st. And the first winter storm of the season is passing through. It's not even officially winter!
Seasons come and go. They often pass faster than we wish. That is especially true when we watch our children growing up...then our grandchildren... and so on. The days go by so fast.
That is why it is so important to make a decision for the Lord and to live for him each day. We may think we have all the time in the world. The invitation is always open but we are not even promised the next hour!
I am not selling fire insurance. I am offering you more time... eternal life with our Lord, Jesus Christ. And everyone can use a bit more time!!!
Prayer Thought: Dear God, Where does the time go. One day we are children longingly looking forward to growing up. The next day we are older adults remembering the carefree days of our youth. To you a day is like a thousand years and thousand years is like a day. But to us life is a precious struggle for each moment. Help us to release the bounds of time and to embrace the eternal nature of your majesty. Help us to boldly shed the temporal and clothe ourselves in the spiritual. You are our God. In Jesus' name, Amen.
